the story

why we built Kaiary

Kaiary is a private family memory journal app, started by a dad who realized the best moments of his daughter's childhood weren't just the ones his camera was catching.

the little moments, hand in hand.

when my second daughter was born, I realized how much I'd already missed with my first. Not the milestones — I had photos of those. The small things. The way she said "banana." The bedtime song she only wanted for a month. The face she made the first time she tried ice cream.

I wasn't going to let that happen twice.

"those were already fading, and no photo album was going to bring them back."
— jared, the night Kaiary started

So I built Kaiary — something private, something that actually understood my family and could hold onto the moments photos alone can't.

I named it after my daughter, Kaia. She's the reason all of this exists.
